Preserved ratio impaired spirometry (PRISm): recent insights and clinical implications

Year in review
Aims: to update the audience about the epidemiology, temporal stability and long-term health outcomes of the lung function trait PRISm (preserved ratio impaired spirometry). Secondary, for those that are not yet familiar with PRISm, the definition of this condition will be introduced and the associations between PRISm, respiratory symptoms and the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will be highlighted. Also, the audience will learn about the relationship between PRISm and extrapulmonary comorbidities and about latest insights into the long-term lung function trajectories of PRISm.
