Abstract OBJECTIVES: - Accounting of total cost of Lung Cancer Inpatients. - Distribution of Health Care Services Direct Cost in Inpatients - Providing Strategies for Decreasing OOP in Patients with LCMETHOD: This cross sectional retrospective experimental study calculated hospital costs and analyzed the data in forms and tables designed especially for this purpose. Also data in regard to capital, current and overhead costs were collected . After calculation ,the mean of total costs was assessed. In this Study 123 patient with LC from 2004 till 2005 have been fallowed in massih daneshvari Hospital.RESULTS Total Cost: In base of finding this study, 43% of Patients were male and 57% were female. The average cost of each LC inpatients in Males was 2263$ (2.217.708 Rls) and in female was 1324 $ (1.297.326 Rls). Distribution of cost : Near 85.87% of Expenditure are for Hoteling (23%), Drugs (18% without Chemotherapy), physician(10.3%), labratoary (8.4%), C.T. Scan (7.73%), Chemotherapy (6.7%), Patology (2.34%), Nursing (1.7%), Surgery (1.7%), Radiology (0.55%) , Consumable Material and tools (2.75) and near 14.24% is for the other part of expenditures.CONCLUSIONS : If we consider mean of annually Income in rural Household approximately 4000$ and in Urban Households near 7200$ and GDP per capita in Iran 8000 $ (ppp) the Expenditure of LC can be introduced Catastrophic Payment for any families. We need to determining Suitable Health Insurance besides cost containment of LC Cost with economical aspect of health care services.
