Low dependence population
Inclusion criteria were males aged 16 years and older who had smoked cigarettes during the preceding month with no information on duration of smoking. In either group only approximately 10% of the cohort were significantly dependent as reflected by a FTND score of >7, and thus the cost benefit ratio of healthcare professionals time targetting a low nicotine dependent cohort is not efficacious.
