Abstract
Sarcoïdosis is a granulomatous disease of unknown origin mainly affecting the lung and the hilar lymph nodes.
Extrapulmonary manifestations of sarcoïdosis are commonly observed in approximately 20 to 30 % of patients.
We report four female patients hospitalized over the period 2003 –2005, with a mean age 54 years, presenting hepatosplenic sarcoïdosis associated with symptomatic pulmonary location in all the patients.
One patient had liver location, a second had only splenic location and tow patients had both liver and splenic locations of sarcoidosis. Liver lesions were asymptomatic in all patients. Biological cholestasis was observed in one case.
Ultarasonography showed an homogene hepatomegaly in the four cases and an homogene splenomegaly in three of them. One patient had multiple splenic hypodense macronodulars.
Corticotherapy has been prescribed in 3 patients, with regression of lesions in imaging .
Hepatosplenic sarcoïdosis is usually asymptomatic and corticotherapy is not systematic.
