Abstract

For the last 10 years 188 patients with tuberculosis in combination with diabetes mellitus were treated in the clinics of the Institute, men-127, women-61, mostly aged 20-50 years. Diabetes mellitus of the 1st type dominated (72,34%), severe form-40,42%, averege-46,8%. Diabetes mellitus in 80,85% of cases was primary disease. In these patients disseminated infiltrative tuberculosis dominated (51,97%) with more severe mutually complicative course of both diseases. Immunological reactivity was low (84,21%). In the treatment course of these patients there were observed not only the therapy principles of both diseases but there were also introduced our new methods of pathogenetic therapy, electrophorez with 6% salicilive natrium and heparen, solcoceryl, curative blockades, radionuclids expeling and increasing treatment efficiency medicines. Chemotherapy was ineffective in 25-57%, for it was made the resections of lung in 10-17%, including organ-saving operations according to the author's method and the full clinical effect was attained in 88,79% with a better diabetes mellitus course in more distant period (1-10 years).
So, the new author's methods of pathogenetic therapy and organ-saving operations on lungs greatly contributed to the treatment effect in the patients with tuberculosis in combination with diabetes mellitus (living on the radionuclids polluted territories), when both diseases interacted toward the mutual complications.
