Abstract The study aimed to develop a peak expiratory flow rate nomogram for Turkish children. Rnadomly selected from nine Bakirkoy primary schools, 1030 children (495 girls, 535 boys) with age range 8-14 years, were attended to this research. Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) was recorded in a standing position using a Personal Best peak flow mater.Anthropometric measurements, weight, height and mid-upper-arm circumference were recorded and body mass index was calculated. Our findings showed that PEFR to be significantly related to height (r = 0.77), age (r = 0.71) and weight (r = 0.66) in boy and girls. The PEFR values of Turkish children were found to be lower than those reported from other European countries.
