Abstract

During June 2009-January 2010, 452 patients with swine influenza H1N1 2009 confirmed by real time RT-PCR were detected. Almost all were completely cure from oseltamivir 75 mg twice a day for 5 days. From December 2009 till January 2010, three cases of patients complicated with pneumonia were not responded to standard dose of oseltamivir. H1N1 2009 were found via bronchial washing in all three patients, in spite of 5 days course of oseltamivir.
Double strength of oseltamivir was used in one intubated patient who developed acute respiratory distress syndrome for 5 days and he recovered completely.
Another pregnant woman, who did not respond to standard oseltamivir and inhaled zanamivir; respond well to double strength of oseltamivir. The third gentleman who did not respond to inhaled zanamivir and double strength of oseltamivir, responded well to combination of ribavirine and intravenous zanamivir.
In conclusion: We start to find resistant strain of swine flu pneumonia.
Double strength of oseltamivir , ribavirine and intravenous zanamivir are alternative choices of treatment.
