Aims: The aims of this session are to review:
- the potential cardiac risks, in relation to the benefits, of macrolide treatment for pneumonia;
- the evidence supporting the notion that treating obstructive sleep apnoea may be an important in the management of hypertension; and
- the impact of smoking during pregnancy on the risk of respiratory disease in early childhood and potential approaches to prevention.
