Primary ciliary dyskinesia: sharing knowledge and experience across Europe

Target audience

This course is aimed at trainee and specialist levels in a number of disciplines. These include general paediatrics, adult and paediatric pulmonologists, ENT, allergy and pathology.

Educational aims

  • To provide a comprehensive overview of the epidemiology of PCD
  • To detail the screening tools of PCD, and to provide hands-on experience in currently available machines
  • To improve the knowledge about ciliary beating and cilia ultrastructure
  • To focus on, and improve, practical problem-solving skills in PCD screening and diagnosis
  • To widen the knowledge about the clinical spectrum and presentation of PCD
  • To tackle and resolve the therapeutic challenges of PCD and of its complications
  • To encourage the participants to be involved in the pan-European collaborations exemplified by the ERS Task Force by taking part in future research projects
