New insights in weaning from invasive ventilation

Symposium
Chairs: L. Piquilloud (Lausanne, Switzerland), R. D'Cruz (London, United Kingdom)
Aims: Weaning from mechanical ventilation is a challenge for clinicians working in the ICU, but may also be a frightening and frustrating endeavour for critically ill patients. Several studies have recently been published that provide new insights into the epidemiology and treatment of ventilator weaning failure. This session aims to update clinicians on recent advances in ventilator weaning failure.
