Transitions in chronic NIV

Symposium
Chairs: J. Winck (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal), M. Patout (Paris, France)
Aims: This session will cover progressions in care in individuals receiving long term non-invasive ventilation – what happens with children as they grow, which patients can be decannulated from invasive to non-invasive ventilation, what is best practise in transitioning children to adult care, and what happens to adults using NIV as they grow into old age? The focus will be on medical & ventilatory management, best practice and personalising care, so quality of life is optimised.
