Monitoring patients during non-invasive ventilation

Practical Workshop
Chairs: J-P. Janssens (Geneva, Switzerland)
Aims: Complex respiratory events such as leaks, patient-ventilator asynchrony and increases in upper airway resistance may occur during sleep in patients on non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy. This workshop will help to learn how to recognize these events and better understand the importance of their negative impact both on sleep and therapy efficacy. It will also help the clinician to know which simple tools can be used to interpret these complex events.
