Usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) and nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP), idiopathic or not: new concepts in diagnosis and treatment

Symposium
Chairs: J. Muller-Quernheim (Freiburg, Germany), J-F. Cordier (Lyon, France)
Aims: Major strides have been made in the classification and understanding of idiopathic interstitial pneumonia. These have led to important new recommandations in diagnosing idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (idiopathic or not). New treatment modalities are being evaluated. The aim of this symposium is to set out these novel approaches and impacts. Target audience: Pulmonary physicians, including those in training.
