Tobacco control in Europe: what are the priorities?

Aims: This symposium will review the prevalence of smoking across Europe and the implementation of basic population strategies for primary and secondary smoking prevention in different countries. At the end of the session the audience will have a working knowledge of the extent of the public health problem caused by smoking in Europe, what can be done to prevent disease at population and individual level and how advanced the different European countries are in delivering these prevention policies. Target audience: All respiratory physicians, surgeons and related healthcare professionals.
