Aims: Many people use the internet to obtain health information, but some cases could identify an instance where online health information caused harm. Although the health code of ethics fosters high-quality health information, increased awareness of ethical health issues among consumers and professionals will reduce the likelihood of harm occurring from the use of online health information. Furthermore, the use of online health information impacts clinical practice. Target audience: Allied health professionals and respiratory physicians.
