Pressure for plasticity: the pulmonary interstitium in the diseased lung

Symposium
Chairs: S. Uhlig (Aachen, Germany), P. Pelosi (Milano, Italy)
Aims: This symposium will integrate novel findings from the basic and clinical sciences, and link these to pathobiological models of acute lung injury. At the end of the symposium, the audience will be up to date with recent developments and state-of-the-art knowledge about the regulation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) in health and disease. Potential therapeutic options modifying the interaction of the (ECM) with resident and motile lung cells will be outlined.
