PG12 - Small cell lung cancer management

Aims: This is the fourth and final course in the first postgraduate core curriculum series (2003 to 2006) covering the main issues on lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. The aims of this fourth module in the series are:
• to review the current knowledge on the optimal integration of the different components of modern multimodality treatment for small cell lung cancer (SCLC);
• to review the recent advances in small cell lung cancer chemotherapy;
• to address issues in supportive care, including anti-emetics, growth factors and symptomatic treatments;
• to summarize the potential clinical applications of increasing knowledge on the biology of lung cancer. Target audience: Chest physicians and thoracic surgeons who are involved with all aspects of assessment and treatment of lung cancer.
