PG4 - Paediatric respiratory medicine: wheezing children: asthma and beyond

Aims: Asthma is the most common chronic disease in childhood. This core curriculum course on the current state of the art in childhood asthma will be useful to all ERS members working with children in their practice. Participants will acquire knowledge of numerous recent developments, both for preschool asthma and asthma in school-aged children and adolescents.
The main learning objectives of this course are:
-to review risk factors for different clinical phenotypes of asthma in children;
-to review diagnosis and management of childhood asthma, both chronic care and management of acute severe asthma;
-to present highlights of the ERS Task Force?s Report on preschool wheeze.
