Aims: to identify optimal strategies for follow-up care that will positively impact the COVID-19 patient’s quality of life who frequently experience symptom burden postacute infection or posthospitalisation; to review the consequences on quality of life, symptom burden, disability and home care follow-up; to answer eight clinical questions: 1. Are there features of the acute disease that predict long-term consequences? 2. Which follow-up strategies relate to thromboembolic events? 3. Which follow-up strategies relate to pulmonary physiology? 4. Which follow-up strategies relate to imaging? 5. Which follow-up strategies relate to infection control? 6. Which follow-up strategies relate to cognitive, psychological and quality-of-life consequences? 7. Which follow-up strategies relate to disability? 8. Which follow-up strategies relate to home care follow-up (telemedicine/telerehabilitation)?
