Lumping and splitting of fibrotic interstitial lung diseases

Symposium
Chairs: M. Kolb (Hamilton (ON), Canada), V. Poletti (Forlì, Italy)
Aims: to compare big-picture approaches for future clinical practice, pathogenetic approaches and treatment algorithms in fibrotic interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) and to contrast the goal of increasing diagnostic and prognostic precision for development of personalised medicine (e.g., for sub-groups of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis [IPF]) with the amalgamation of various forms of progressive fibrotic ILDs (progressive fibrotic phenotype).
