Aims: to describe the physiology of the right ventricle and pulmonary circulation at rest and during exercise; to present the most important clinical methods for assessment of haemodynamics and right ventricular function and will aid diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making in daily clinical routine. We aim to focus on healthy conditions and the most important diseases affecting pulmonary circulation, such as pulmonary hypertension.
