Mechanisms of virus-induced airway disease in children and adults

Major Symposium
Chairs: S. L. Johnston (London, United Kingdom), Z. Zivkovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia)
Aims: This symposium will:
• examine the epidemiological and mechanistic evidence for interactions between air pollution exposure and virus infections in risk of wheezing and asthma exacerbations in both adults and children;
• update clinicians and researchers on the clinical significance and mechanisms of disease of the two most important respiratory viruses ? rhinoviruses and RSV.
