Towards personalised medicine for airways diseases: Deep phenotyping using omics approaches will revolutionise future treatment strategies

Session
Chairs: P. Sterk (Amsterdam, Netherlands), S. Carraro (Padova, PD, Italy)
Aims: After this session the audience will have gained a better understanding of the need for personalised medicine in chronic airways diseases such as asthma and COPD; received a state-of-the-art knowledge on systems biology concepts, the importance of standardised data collection and analysis in the context of genetics, epigenetics, metabolomics and microbiome; and an update on how this approach has led to new understanding of disease mechanisms and lead to new therapies for children and adults.
