Aims: To discuss the complex mechanisms by which environmental particles and infectious agents (bacteria and viruses) cause disease and the innate immune mechanisms by which epithelial cells, macrophages and neutrophils protect from disease.
Target audience: Clinicians, clinical scientists, scientists and allied health care workers with an interest in environmental particles and infectious diseases exposure.
