EW1 Inhaler techniques - train the trainer

Aims: To provide participants with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to demonstrate the use of inhalation devices and to coach and teach patients effectively. Workstation 1: Overview of the different types of models and how they function. Workstation 2: This workstation will provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to guide and train a patient to successfully use an inhaler. Workstation 3: An overview on how inhalers perform in real life scenarios will be given. The preferences and views of patients regarding which inhalers are most practical to use will be discussed. Workstation 4: This workstation will teach participants how to successfully administer medication and how to avoid common mistakes.
Target audience: Nurses, technologists, clinicians, fellows, physiologists and pharmacists.
