Workshop: tests of respiratory muscle strength

Symposium
Chairs: M. Polkey (London, United Kingdom), N. Verhey (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
Aims: Tests of respiratory muscle strength (i.e. MIP/MEP and SNIFF measurements) are not performed everywhere and evaluated in the same way in Europe and abroad. Moreover, many institutions use own-built devices, since they are not satisfied with commercially available devices. This Workshop should demonstrate on commercially available devices how the measurement should be performed and evaluated correctly.
