PG15 Common respiratory infections in childhood: current guidelines and controversies

Aims: To provide: an overview of the current guidelines and controversies for frequently occurring paediatric respiratory infections, such as viral bronchiolitis and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP); and insight into the changing epidemiology of CAP and pleuritis in childhood due to vaccination, controversies in the management of parapneumonic effusions and the diagnostic approach of recurrent pneumonia.
