Update on the role of angiogenesis in the pathogenesis and treatment of lung diseases

Symposium
Chairs: E. Brambilla (Grenoble, France), J. Chorostowska-Wynimko (Warsaw, Poland)
Aims: This symposium will:
• discuss basic mechanisms of the angiogenesis process in lung development, physiological and pathological conditions;
• give an insight into the role of angiogenesis in lung tumour growth and metastasis formation;
• review the impact of angiogenic processes on the chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract;
• review the novel approaches to pharmacotherapy of lung diseases based on the anti-angiogenic activity, in particular the new anticancer strategies.
