Aims: This is the third course in a three-year postgraduate core curriculum covering the main issues on sleep-related problems. The aims of this third module in the series are:
• to identify the objectives of treatment;
• to identify the advantages and limitations of CPAP and the appliances;
• to understand the mechanisms and potential feasibility of new treatments;
• to identify the possibility of treatment in obstructive and central sleep apnoea associated with heart failure.
