Aims: Recent evidence exists about the role of new treatment strategies to assist patients submitted to pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, particularly those presenting the highest level of functional compromisation. This course will present the latest information on novel techniques and/or management strategies for such patients, focusing on the potential benefits and the most controversial issues.
