Aims: 1. To understand the strength of the association between gastro-oesophageal reflux and advanced lung disease;
2. To appreciate potential cellular mechanisms of airway injury in patients with gastric aspiration;
3. To assess the potential therapeutic interventions available for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and to consider the evidence for fundoplication to reduce airway injury in lung transplant recipients.
