Exploring the link between inhaled corticosteroids and respiratory infection

Symposium
Chairs: N. Lorent (Leuven, Belgium), T. Welte (Hannover, Germany)
Aims: to discuss emerging data concerning the role of inhaled corticosteroids in respiratory infections; to review the impact of inhaled corticosteroids on the risk of infection in the era of triple therapy, the impact of inhaled corticosteroids on the lung microbiome and how inhaled corticosteroids may increase susceptibility to viral-induced exacerbations of COPD.
