Aims: to provide an update on the impact and epidemiology of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections throughout life, including in the developing world; to provide an update and describe new results of ongoing trials of RSV antiviral treatment in children and adults; and to provide an update and describe new results of ongoing trials of RSV vaccination in pregnancy, infancy and old age.
