Advances in pneumonia management, COPD therapy and lung nodule evaluation

Lunchtime session
Chairs: George O'Connor (Boston, United States of America), Guy Brusselle (Ghent, Belgium)
Aims: The audience will learn about the usefulness of systemic corticosteroid therapy for severe community-acquired pneumonia; the risks and benefits of treating older patients with COPD with combined long-acting bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid therapy versus long-acting bronchodilator alone; and the roles and limitations of FDG-PET scanning for evaluating pulmonary nodules that are suspicious for lung cancer.
Target audience: Clinicians and clinical researchers.
