Breathlessness during exercise: if not asthma, then what?

Symposium
Chairs: Bart Rottier (Groningen, Netherlands), Mike Thomas (Southampton, United Kingdom)
Aims: To describe the prevalence, (patho)physiology and treatment of exercise-induced asthma, teach how to interpret Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction test results, physiotherapeutic assessments and ergometry when evaluating childhood dyspnoea on exertion, describe the other causes of exercise-induced dyspnoea as dysfunctional breathing, vocal cord dysfunction and exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction and provide insight into how to recognise dysfunctional breathing patterns and how to teach diaphragmatic breathing.
Target audience: Paediatricians, physiotherapists, GPs, allied respiratory professionals, respiratory physicians, and nurses.
