Aims: This session starts by highlighting recent advances in neonatal screening across Europe. Recent concepts of lung function assessment in young children with CF will be reviewed, and will provide the audience with an underpinning knowledge. The third presentation is organised to describe new insights in to mucus characteristics, concerning properties, structure and expectoration. The session finishes with an exploration of the current literature on the physiotherapy management of infants and young children with CF.
