Non-invasive ventilation and airway structure and function

Aims: The audience will gain state-of-the-art knowledge of the recent advances in the field of the use of NIV in the rehabilitation program of respiratory patients with emphasis on: the assessment of the use of NIV in novel settings such as exercises rehabilitation programmes and airway clearance regimens; the applicability of home-use of NIV; the effects of NIV assessed with functional imaging techniques; and the effects of short-term NIV on lung function parameters.
