About

Research Seminars gather a small number (20 to 100) of well-established and preferably young investigators to address scientific topics in depth and help break new ground. Research Seminars take place over two days in easy-to-reach European cities. They are scientific Seminars involving recently published work and research in progress. Participation is fully supported by the budget granted by the ERS.

Managing the lung of the extremely low gestational age neonate (ELGAN) in the delivery room

The objectives of this seminar were to discuss as an international team of experts new data on the physiology and pathophysiology of the lung in order to:

find an evidence based consensus on how to best facilitate the respiratory support of ELGANs, possibly stratified by GA and formulate ERS-Neonatal recommendations
to identify areas of most urgently needed research
to form international collaborations for research in order to answer such questions in large, multi-centre trials.
