New ATS/ERS recommendations for bronchoprovocation challenge testing

Symposium
Chairs: B. Culver (Washington, United States of America), F. De Jongh (Enschede, Netherlands)
Aims: Bronchial challenge tests are one of the main diagnostic tests for asthma. There is, however, a lack of standardisation in this field (e.g. which nebuliser/protocols to use when performing a metacholine-challenge test). Meanwhile, new developments (like mannitol) are already being used in clinical practice but are not included in the existing guidelines. This Task Force will present up-to-date guidelines in the field of direct and indirect bronchial challenge testing.
