Lunchtime Programme Roundtable "Conflicts of interest in publishing"

Aims: Conflicts of interest in scientific publications has become a major area of debate which will be discussed in a roundtable format to allow adequate time for discussion of the complex issues involved. Amongst the topics for discussion by the panel will be:
- What is the extent of pharmaceutical influence on publications?
- How does the pharmaceutical industry influence journal content?
- How should academics deal with publication of industry-sponsored research?
- What is the prevalence of ?ghost? written articles and how can this be stopped?
- How should researchers analyse industry-sponsored research, especially very large trials with large data-sets?
