COPD comorbidities: translational approaches

Symposium
Chairs: R. Bals (Marburg, Germany), T. Geiser (Bern, Switzerland)
Aims: This symposium aims to summarise the current knowledge of COPD and its comorbidities and to focus on pre-clinical models of this interaction. At the end of the session, the audience will be equipped with the basic concepts of why comorbidities are important for the clinical care of patients with COPD and how pre-clinical models can help to dissect the mechanisms of this interaction. The symposium combines the clinical perspective and information about preclinical models and discusses how scientific and clinical progress can be achieved.
