Aims: To introduce the new management guidelines with their implications for the diagnosis and management of patients with pulmonary hypertension. In this context the audience should learn: 1) the importance of vascular remodelling and of novel transcription factors in the pathogenesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension; 2) the therapeutic potential of novel transcription factor inhibitors; and 3) the importance of matching the patient?s treatment to their functional status.
