Respiratory Infections Grand Round – an interactive session

Grand round
Chairs: G. Rohde (Bochum, Germany), F. Blasi (Milan, Italy)
Aims: Four clinical cases will be presented, illustrating some challenges in the approach to lower respiratory tract infections: how to assess pneumonia severity, which are the indications for diagnostic work-up, and treatment options. Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis will be another issue, with a particular focus on microbiology in the more severely compromised patients. Finally, the topic of how to suspect pulmonary tuberculosis will be discussed.
