PG13 Asthma: pathology and treatment

Aims: There is a need to discuss the evolving scientific knowledge describing pathogenesis relating to environmental factors, inflammation, infection, and their interaction with genetic predisposition. In addition, the current concepts in disease heterogeneity and impact must be examined including pathophysiology, and the role of systemic manifestations of disease. Finally, these concepts must be linked to rapidly evolving notions regarding therapy.
