Aims: The aims of this session will be to:
• examine studies that have questioned the safety of LABAs in asthma;
• understand the mechanisms that are implicated in excess morbidity and mortality in patients with asthma on LABAs;
• suggest alternative therapeutic approaches for overcoming the LABA-induced severe asthma exacerbations and asthma-related deaths.
