Aims: This session is organized by the ERS Early Career Member Committee and aims to provide important insight into the critical steps for a successful future career in respiratory research and medicine; to give insight into new possibilities to transfer between academia and industry and how these have changed in the 21st century; to introduce the Early Career Member Committee and depict ways of how to get actively involved in the ERS; and to summarise the current fellowship offers from the ERS, with a shared personal experience of a recent fellowship recipient.
