Aims: This symposium will:
• review genotypes and phenotypes of respiratory diseases;
• review the principles underlying gene-environment interaction in the origin of disease;
• review the evidence on gene-environment interactions in childhood allergy and asthma. Target audience: Epidemiologists, clinicians, geneticists, fundamental researchers.
