Aims: The specific aims of the course are:
• to strengthen the role of the respiratory physician in tobacco control programmes;
• to describe the smoking cessation strategies implemented worldwide;
• to emphasize the special needs of respiratory patients regarding smoking cessation;
• to give information and exchange experiences regarding the development of smoking cessation clinics in respiratory departments. Target audience: Clinicians, trainees and nurses.
