Aims: This session aims at presenting and discussing the most relevant changes introduced in the GOLD2017 report. It will discuss issues related to diagnosis of the disease, risk factors (known and novel), a refined ABCD proposal for the assessment of patients in order to guide pharmacological treatment as well as the new dynamic therapeutic scheme proposed, including non-pharmacological interventions. It is hoped that, at the end of the session, participants will be fully aware of the new concepts and proposals introduced in the 2017 GOLD report
