Telemonitoring of ventilator-dependent patients

Aims: Home-mechanical ventilation requires patient and family cooperation. However, the clinical conditions, the need for technology, the lack of professional supervision, and acute exacerbations of the underlying disease can make management of home-mechanical ventilation a difficult task. Telemonitoring may help to improve the care of home-mechanically-ventilated patients. This symposium will describe the potential usefulness of telemonitoring in various settings.
